Abstract

The paper discusses two possible borrowings between Armenian and Caucasian Albanian. It is argued that CAlb. isḳaos is borrowed from Arm. (e)piskapos attested in two of the earliest Armenian inscriptions. The similarity of CAlb. axal- 'nurse' and Arm. ałaxin 'id.' is probably not due to chance.
